‘Stranger Things 4’ Continues Setting Records On Netflix

OK, we get it–the fourth season of Stranger Things is kinda popular.

The numbers are in for the first full week of Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 on Netflix, and the show is on pace to become the streamer’s  No. 1 English-language series of all time, according to a report on Deadline.

The show posted 335 million hours viewed in its first week of release, placing it third all-time behind only the first two seasons of Bridgerton, which measures viewership over a season’s first 28 days on the streamer. So, given that, Stranger Things 4 is likely to claim the top spot by the end of the week.

In addition, the show’s first volume was the most-watched season of English-language TV in a single week on Netflix, and hit No. 1 on the Top 10 lists in 91 countries–a first for an English TV series.

Stranger Things 4 Volume 1–led by series creators Matt and Ross Duffer–finds the familiar characters separated for the first time, while a new monster rears its ugly head back in Hawkins. Volume 2 is slated to start streaming on Netflix July 1.

Stranger Things–which will return for a fifth and final season–has already piled up 39 Primetime Emmy Award nominations (winning six) and three People’s Choice Awards.
