She must have learned something from daddy.
Destry Allyn Spielberg–the daughter of the Oscar-winning filmmaker–will make her directorial debut with a horror feature, Please Don’t Feed the Children, according to a report on Deadline.
The film–expected to start production next month in New Mexico–was written by Paul Bertino and stars Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey). Jason Dubin, Josh Kesselman and Michael Hagerty are producing the flick.
In the feature, a viral outbreak decimates the country’s adult population, and a group of orphans “heads south in search of a new life,” according to the synopsis, “only to find themselves at the mercy of a deranged woman harboring a dangerous secret.”
The younger Spielberg–who won Best Thriller at the City of Angels Women’s Film Festival last year for Let Me Go the Right Way–said she’s grateful to have the chance to bring this story to the screen “with such a collaborative and inspirational team. This is so much more than just a horror film. And it’s a dream come true to work with Michelle Dockery.”
