Stephen King’s novel ‘Mr.Mercedes’ is being developed for television as a limited series by Sonar Entertainment. David E. Kelley (The Practice, Boston Legal, Ally McBeal) is writing the script and Jack Bender (Lost) is attached to direct. Both are executive producing, along with Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey and Gene Stein. ‘Mr Mercedes’ was published last June and is King’s first dectective tale. It centers around a psychotic killer who drives his mercedes into a crowd, commiting mass murder and a recently retired cop is on a mission to bring him to justice. The novel is the first of a triology King is writing. The second, called ‘Finders Keepers’, is coming in May.
