Starz’s ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead’ Casts Mimi Rogers

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported today that Mimi Rogers has been added to the cast of Starz’s ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead’.  She is cast as Suzy Maxwell, mother of the moody wild child Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo), who is reunited with her family, along with several uninvited strangers, after a freak accident.  

Bruce Campbell stars in the ‘Evil Dead’ sequel. Bruce Campbell is reprising his role as Ash, who has been avoiding growing up for thirty years,  when he is forced to take on a Deadite who threatens to destroy the human race.   Lucy Lawless (Spartacus),  Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago (Meet The Fockers) and Dana DeLorenzo (Sleepy Hollow) are also cast in the 10 episode half-hour series, which is expected to premiere in late 2015. 

Sam Raimi is directing the pilot. Raimi, his brother Ivan Raimi, DiGregorio and Tom Spezialy co-wrote the pilot.   Campbell, Rob Tapert (the original film’s producer) and Craig DiGregorio (the series showrunner) are executive producing, with Ivan Raimi   co-executive producing. Aaron Lam and Chloe Smith are producing.  The series is currently in production in New Zealand.
