The supernatural comes to the stage.
Paranormal Activity–the 2007 Paramount Pictures found-footage horror movie that started a successful film franchise–is being adapted for the stage, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Veteran stage producer Simon Friend (the Life of Pi play) has acquired the license to the horror series, and plans to stage the new play at the West End.
In addition, Levi Holloway–who wrote the horror-themed Broadway play Grey House–has signed on for the adaptation. The project reportedly is currently in early development. No casting choices have yet been announced.
The Paranormal Activity movie–from writer/director Oren Peli–follows a young couple (Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat) who are haunted by a supernatural presence inside their house–and who set up a camera to document the eerie happenings.
