Spencer Sutherland is the latest actor to sign on the dotted line to appear in I Know What You Did Last Summer. Sutherland, who most recently appeared in Afterlife of the Party, will appear in a multi-episode arc.
Sara Goodman (Preacher, Gossip Girl) is slated to write the series which is based on the first film and the 1973 Lois Duncan novel that spawned the franchise. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
The original I Know What You Did Last Summer was released on October 17, 1997 and starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr. The story follows four young friends who are stalked by a hook-wielding killer one year after they covered up a car accident that took a man’s life. The movie raked in over $125 million worldwide on a $17-million budget.
