Sometimes friends can be scary.

Speak No Evil–a reboot of the 2022 horror pic from Blumhouse Productions–has started shooting in Europe, and a new cast member came aboard this week, according to a report on Deadline.

Scoot McNairy (Argo) has joined lead James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis in the film from writer/director James Watkins. The feature–produced by Jason Blum–will land in theaters Aug. 9, 2024.

The original Speak No Evil follows two families (one Danish, one Dutch), who meet on a vacation is Tuscany. Then, months later, the Dutch family invites the Danish couple for a weekend getaway, according to the synopsis, “but the joy of reunion is replaced by  misunderstandings.”

The Dutch hospitality unnerves the Danes, “and they find themselves increasingly caught in a web of their own politeness in the face of sinister behavior.”
