‘Speak No Evil’ Remake Signs Another Cast Member

If you have nothing good to say, don’t say anything.

Speak No Evil–a remake of last year’s horror thriller–is in the works from Blumhouse Productions, and the cast continues to grow, according to a report on Deadline.

Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate) this week joined lead James McAvoy in the reboot written and directed by James Watkins (The Woman in Black).

The film–set for a theatrical release Aug. 9, 2024–is produced by Jason Blum–with Paul Ritchie, Christian Tafdrup, Jacob Jarek and Bea Sequeira serving as executive producers.

The original Speak No Evil–directed by Tafdrup–follows two families (one Danish, one Dutch), who meet on a vacation in Tuscany, according to the synopsis. Months later, the Dutch family invites the Danish couple for a weekend getaway, but “the joy of reunion is replaced by misunderstandings.”

The Dutch hospitality “quickly turns unnerving for the Danes, and they find themselves increasingly caught in a web of their own politeness in the face of sinister behavior.”
