‘Sons Of The Forest’ Game Gets Pushed Back To Early 2023

The forest will be out of reach until next year.

Sons of the Forest--the oft-delayed sequel to the horror survival video game The Forest–has hit one more bump in the road. Check out the Twitter post–courtesy of comicbook.com–on this page that announces the game has been pushed back to Feb. 23, 2023.

The Endnight Games offering–first slated to hit stores this May, and then this October–is being delayed yet again to give the developers extra time to polish the title. The new game reportedly will be released for PC via Steam for $29.99.

The Forest–released in 2018 for PC and PlayStation 4–is set in a remote, heavily forested peninsula where Eric Leblanc and his son Timmy have survived a plane crash. But the horrors have just started.

The game, as explained, features nonlinear gameplay in an open world environment, and is played from a first-person perspective. There are no set missions, so players can make their own decisions in order to survive encounters with cannibalistic mutants. Indications are that the sequel will more or less follow this format, but with additional horror elements.
