Another reason to smile.
A sequel to last year’s horror hit Smile was announced at CinemaCon earlier this year, and now Paramount has confirmed the release date for the film, according to a report on Deadline.
Smile 2–if that’s the title–will land in theaters Oct. 18, 2024, with Parker Finn–who wrote and directed the original feature–back in the director’s chair. No casting choices have yet come down, due to the ongoing actors’ strike.
The first horror pic–which raked in $105 million domestically and almost $220 million worldwide–follows Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) as she suffers through frightening experiences she can’t explain after witnessing “a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient.”
And things get even worse when Cotter must confront “her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.”
No plot details for the sequel have yet been revealed, so keep reading Horror News Network for further updates on Smile 2.
