The 1999 gothic horror film Sleepy Hollow–adapted by Tim Burton from the 1820 Washington Irving short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow–will get a 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release this fall.
The film–available in the new versions Sept. 5–follows police constable Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp), who is sent from New York City to investigate a series of murders in the village of Sleepy Hollow–murders committed by the mysterious Headless Horseman.
The feature–which also starred Christina Ricci, Miranda Richardson, Christopher Lee and Jeffrey Jones–received positive reviews and won the Academy Award for Best Art Direction. The film also did well at the box office, earning $207 million worldwide on a $70-million budget.
