‘Skeletons In The Closet’ Gets New Director, Adds To Cast

by Thomas Tuna

Cleaning out your closet is a necessary evil. But watch out for the skeletons.

The new horror flick Skeletons in the Closet–which recently started shooting in Las Vegas–had a shakeup behind the cameras and added several new cast members this week, according to a report on Deadline.

Lance Kawas is out as director (citing the familiar “creative differences”) and Asif Akbar is in the coveted chair. In addition, Udo Kier (Downsizing), Oscar nominee Sally Kirkland (Anna) and Louis Mandylor (The Mercenary) have joined the already announced Oscar nominee Terrence Howard, Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr., Clifton Powell and Valery M. Ortiz in the cast.

The film–scripted by Koji Steven Sakai and Joshua A. Cohen (from an original story by Al Bravo)–follows a desperate mother, “haunted by a malevolent spirit since childhood, who allows herself to become possessed in order to save the life of her terminally ill daughter,” according to the new logline.

The film’s producers include Bravo, Akbar, Sakai, Colin Bates, Stan Erdreich and Monica R. Cooper.
