Horror fan favorites Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) are developing a paranormal “monster of the week” comedy entitled Truth Seekers through their new production company Stolen Picture, which is also backed by Sony Television.
In an exclusive interview with Variety, Pegg stated that “Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something. It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”
In addition to Truth Seekers, the pair are also working on Stolen Picture’s debut film, Slaughterhouse Rulez (directed by Crispian Mills) which Pegg described as being “very satirical, very much about the U.K. selling itself off. It’s about fracking as well, and that unleashes some awful subterranean demon.”
No other information on either production is available at this time, but be sure to come back to Horror News Network for updates on Truth Seekers and Slaughterhouse Rulez as they are announced.
