Sideshow To Release Macabre Joker Statue Next Summer

“I believe whatever doesn’t kill you simply makes you…stranger.”

Sideshow Collectibles this week gave horror fans a peek at its new Joker Premium Format Figure–inspired by the DC Comics maniacal Clown Prince of Crime. Check out the array of pix–courtesy of Toyark–on this page.

The polystone statue–standing nearly two feet tall on a clown-themed funhouse base–has The Batman’s arch-enemy posing with a bloody hand outstretched (holding a deadly buzzer device), while concealing a crowbar behind his back.

The Joker is clad in a purple suit jacket and pants, orange vest, purple dress shirt and green bowtie–all detailed with realistic textures and spattered with grime.

The statue–priced at $640–will be released between June and September of 2023. Pre-orders are now live.

As all comic book fans know, the Joker–created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson–made his dramatic debut in Batman No. 1  in 1940. The bizarre character was originally planned to be killed off in that first appearance, but wiser heads prevailed–and he has become one of the most iconic fictional villains of all time.

The Joker’s appearances on the big screen have been nothing short of remarkable, with the character being portrayed by four Academy Award winners–Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto and (most recently) Joaquin Phoenix.
