M. Night Shyamalan is serving up another tantalizing scoop of his unique brand of horror.
The acclaimed filmmaker will produce the upcoming The Vanishings at Caddo Lake under his Blinding Edge Pictures banner, as reported by Deadline. This film comes on the heels of Shyamalan’s Old, his sixth movie to open at No. 1 at the box office and which just topped the $90-million mark globally.
The new movie–an original story from the writing/directing team of Celine Held and Logan George–stars Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf), Eliza Scanlen (Sharp Objects), Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Eric Lange (Lost), Sam Hennings (Supernatural) and Diana Hopper (Goliath).
The film–which has already started shooting in Shreveport, La.–tells the harrowing story of an eight-year-old girl who mysteriously vanishes on Caddo Lake. In the wake of this tragedy, “a series of past deaths and disappearances begin to link together, forever altering a broken family’s history,” according to the official synopsis.
The Vanishings at Caddo Lake reunites Shyamalan with the two filmmakers, who were hired to direct two upcoming episodes of Shyamalan’s award-winning Apple TV+ series Servant. This show, one of the streamer’s most-watched offerings, is currently in post-production on its third season.
