Dave Bautista continues to flex his movie muscles.
Looking to continue his recent success with Old, filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan is starting his next cinematic project, according to Deadline, and has lined up former pro wrestler and current box-office draw Dave Bautista to head the cast.
The upcoming film–Knock at the Cabin–will be written, directed and produced (as usual) by Shyamalan, with producing help from Ashwin Rajan, Marc Bienstock and Steven Schneider.
The storyline of the Universal Pictures film is being kept secret at this early juncture, as is Shyamalan’s wont, but it was reported that it will land in theaters Feb. 3, 2023.
Bautista–who left the WWE sports entertainment world behind for the lure of Hollywood–has appeared in several genre hits the last few years. Besides his key role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, Bautista has Army of the Dead, Dune and Knives Out 2 on his action resume.
Shyamalan’s Old, released back in July, was the director’s sixth movie to open atop the box office, and went on to earn more than $90 million worldwide.
