M. Night Shyamalan’s latest horror feature just may be something really special.
Knock at the Cabin–the filmmaker’s 15th contribution to the genre–started shooting last week (as reported here in Horror News Network), and it already has had a strong effect on the director. Check out Shyamalan’s recent Instagram post–courtesy of collider.com–on this page.

Shyamalan wrote that the project enjoyed “such intricate performances this week. Very dark, emotional film. One take shook me up so much I had to walk away to collect myself. Hopefully, you’ll feel it as well when you see it.”
As usual with Shyamalan, plot details have been as scarce as hen’s teeth, but it must be a good sign that the actors’ performances moved the director to post such comments.
The Universal Pictures entry–slated to hit theaters Feb. 3, 2023–has the cast to back up such high praise. The ensemble includes Dave Bautista, Rupert Grint, Jonathan Groff, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ben Aldridge, Abby Quinn and William Ragsdale.
Shyamalan–as is his wont–is writing, directing and producing the film, with help from producers Ashwin Rajan, Marc Bienstock and Steven Schneider.
Shyamalan no doubt hopes Knock at the Cabin can repeat the success of his last film–Old–which last year topped $90 million worldwide and was his sixth movie to debut at No. 1 at the box office.
