Summer isn’t that far off, and Shudder is looking to heat up the season with a new horror flick next month.
Son–a new fright feature that reminds you that “You can’t outrun a family secret”–will debut exclusively on Shudder starting on July 8, as reported by JoBlo.com. An intense trailer for the film can be viewed on this page.
The film–written and directed by Ivan Kavanagh (The Canal)–stars Andi Matichak (the Halloween franchise), Emile Hirsch (The Autopsy of Jane Doe) and Luke David Blumm (The King of Staten Island).
Son kicks into high gear when a “mysterious group breaks into Laura’s home and attempts to kidnap her eight-year-old son, David.” The pair flee to safety, but soon after the failed kidnapping, David “becomes extremely ill, suffering from increasing psychosis and convulsions.”
Doing what she feels she must, Laura “commits unspeakable acts to keep him alive, but soon she must decide how far she is willing to go to save her son,” as explained by the official synopsis.
