Shudder Drops Trailer For ‘A Creepshow Holiday Special’

Get ready for a healthy dose of ho-ho-horror as Shudder presents A Creepshow Holiday Special just in time for the visit from that fat, jolly old guy with the reindeer.

And to heighten the excitement, the streamer this week unveiled a teaser trailer for the hour-long special episode set to air Dec. 18, as reported by comicbook.com. Be sure to check out the clip (and the “Creepy” poster) on this page to get into the proper Yuletide frame of mind.

The holiday-themed episode–Shapeshifters Anonymous–stars Anna Camp and Adam Pally in an eerie tale of a man who fears he may be a horrible murderer and who seeks help for his “unique condition” from a decidedly different support group.

The show–written and directed by Creepshow showrunner Greg Nicotero–is based on a short story by J.A. Konrath.

The special–which was originally planned as one segment of the upcoming second season of Creepshow–brings “the spirit of Christmas alive in true Creepshow fashion,” Nicotero said.

“The imagining how we look at the holidays and Santa Claus–with an outrageous ensemble cast, a myriad of creepy crawlies and  few thrills and chills–shouldn’t be missed,” he added.

Looking ahead to next year’s six-episode second season of Creepshow, production in Atlanta recently resumed after a pandemic-induced delay, and things are back on an even keel. The cast is shaping up and details on a couple of the new episodes were revealed.

One episode–Pesticide–deals with an exterminator who strikes a very bad bargain and another–Model Kid–follows a 12-year-old monster fan who turns to hand-built model kits to escape his unhappy reality.
