If you struggle, you’ll just sink faster.

Quicksand–a new survival horror flick from Sangre Films–had been slated for a Shudder debut later this month, but another genre feature has been moved into that slot. Thus, a quick game of musical chairs.

Quicksand will now kick off on Shudder July 14, with Unwelcome-an Irish folk horror feature–sliding into the June 23 spot previously set aside for the survival pic.

Directed by Andres Beltran from a screenplay by Matt Pitts, Quicksand stars Carolina Galtan and Allan Hawco as an American couple on the brink of divorce who travel to Columbia for a work conference–and find more than they bargained for.

Trapped in a pit of quicksand while hiking through the rain forest, the couple struggles for survival as they battle the elements of the jungle–as well as the threat of a venomous snake.
