Murder most foul.
Dexter: New Blood–the 2021 revival of Dexter which enjoyed a very successful 10-episode first season run on Showtime–will not return for Season 2, according to a report on TV Line.
Fans can take some hope, though, in the fact that the network reportedly is hoping to develop a prequel series that would follow a younger version of the title character. No details about this series have yet been unveiled.
New Blood–led by showrunner Clyde Phillips–takes place 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing during Hurricane Laura. The former forensic specialist (and part-time serial killer) is living under an assumed name in the small town of Iron Lake, N.Y. But his Dark Passenger isn’t ready to retire just yet.
The series stars Michael C. Hall as Dexter–along with Jennifer Carpenter, Julia Jones, Jack Alcott, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah and Clancy Brown.
