Short Teaser Drops For ‘Doctor Jekyll’ Before Festival Debut

by Thomas Tuna

Horror arrives with a new face.

Doctor Jekyll–a new, twisted take on the classic horror tale that Robert Louis Stevenson would have trouble recognizing–is headed to its world premiere at FrightFest later this month, and a don’t-blink-or-you’ll-miss-it teaser just dropped. Check out the very brief clip on this page.

The Hammer Studios film–which hits the festival Aug. 25 while it waits for a theatrical release date–stars Eddie Izzard in the story of one man’s efforts to separate good from evil. Joe Stephenson directed from a screenplay by Dan Kelly-Mulhern.

In the feature, the “reclusive Dr. Nina Jekyll (Izzard) finds friendship with newly hired help Rob (Scott Chambers), and the pair must work together to prevent Hyde from destroying her life.”

Joining Izzard and Chambers in the cast are Lindsay Duncan, Simon Callow, Jonathan Hyde, Tony Jayawardena and Robyn Cara.
