Frank Grillo is getting a little help from his friends on his latest horror film.
Grillo (The Purge franchise)–as reported here in Horror News Network–recently landed the lead role in the occult thriller Man’s Son, and now the rest of the cast is filling out around him. Check out a post by new co-star Jaime King–courtesy of JoBlo.com–on this page.
King–known to genre fans for her roles in Sin City and My Bloody Valentine 3D–has come on board, along with Josh Plasse (American Horror Story), Will Peltz (Unfriended) and newcomer Kathryn Hughes.
Man’s Son–directed by Remy Grillo (his feature debut) from a screenplay by Plasse and Brev Moss–follows a young couple “hoping to create an audition tape for a Charles Manson film,” according to the logline.
But when they choose a desert Airbnb for the backdrop, “the dark events of the audition material slowly slip into their reality. Eventually, they find themselves intertwined in the sinister plot of an occult leader.”
XYZ Films–who picked up the North American distribution rights to Man’s Son–expect to release the film later this year or in early 2023.
