Sequel To Indian Horror Film ‘Chhorii’ Has Started Shooting

There’s more to this ghost story.

Chhorii–the Indian horror film that was a hit on Amazon Prime Video last year–is getting a sequel and, according to a report on Deadline, that movie has started filming.

In the sequel–helmed by returning director Vishal Furia–Nushrratt Bharuccha will reprise her role as Sakshi who “unwittingly sought shelter in a village haunted by the ghost of a pregnant woman who died under violent circumstances” in the original film.

After the truth of the woman’s death was revealed to her through a series of visions, Sakshi almost suffered the same fate, but escaped, and was last seen leaving the village.

Little is known at this time about the sequel’s storyline, but Chhorii 2 reportedly will bring back some key characters–as well as introduce new ones along with dangerous monsters. Soha Ali Khan will join the cast in an undisclosed role.

Furia said he is “thrilled to take the story of Chhorii to the next level. I have always envisioned this to be a multiple-film franchise, and I’m delighted that the producers are backing my vision.”

The producers of the project include T-Series, Crypt TV and Abundantia Entertainment.
