Fans of giant robots vs. kaiju have a lot to cheer about today as a second season of Pacific Rim: The Black was announced on Pacific Rim’s official Twitter page. The message “It’s not over yet, there’s so much more to The Black….” accompanied a still of the Travis siblings preparing to take on a kaiju with the words “S2 is Coming” overlaid on the image.

The seven-episode series, which was released to Netflix on March 4, 2021, is described as: After Kaiju ravage Australia, two siblings pilot a Jaeger to search for their parents, encountering new creatures, seedy characters and chance allies.
The series features the voices of Calum Worthy, Gideon Adlon, Erica Lindbeck, Victoria Grace, Ben Diskin and Andy McPhee.
The Japanese 3DCG animation studio, Polygon Pictures handles the animation on the series. Their work was also seen in Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, Godzilla: City on the Edge, and Godzilla: The Planet Eater.
