Lara Jean Chorostecki this week joined the growing cast of Chucky 2–still awaiting a debut date on Syfy and USA–according to a report on Deadline.
Chorostecki–best known to genre fans for her roles in Hannibal, Nightmare Alley and Reacher–has been cast in a “heavily recurring role”. Since storyline details of the upcoming season have not been revealed, no specifics of Chorostecki’s character were announced.
The Chucky TV series–created by Don Mancini and Nick Antosca–picks up after the Cult of Chucky feature film in the Child’s Play franchise and stars Brad Dourif (as the voice of the killer doll), Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise McCarthy and Jennifer Tilly.
Other members of the ensemble include Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Lex Doig and Devon Sawa.
The first season kicked off when a vintage Chucky doll was found at a yard sale, and the town was “thrown into chaos by a series of horrifying murders. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s origins.”
