Body horror and science-fiction will get a second season under the watchful eye of Ridley Scott.
The filmmaker behind such genre blockbusters as Alien and Blade Runner has a small-screen smash with Raised by Wolves on HBO Max. Season 2 of the series–produced by Scott–will debut Feb. 3, and a trailer, courtesy of collider.com, can be seen on this page.
Raised by Wolves–created by Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners)–follows two androids–Father and Mother–who have been tasked with raising human children on Kepler-22b after the Earth is destroyed in a devastating war.
Fraught with eerie and horrific images, the show details how the colony is threatened by severe religious differences. The androids “learn controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.”
The first season starred Winta McGrath, Niamh Algar, Jordan Loughran, Matias Varela, Felix Jamieson, Ethan Hazzard, Aasiya Shah, Ivy Wong and Travis Fimmel. Season 2 will also feature Peter Christoffersen, Selina Jones, Morgan Santo, James Harkness, Kim Engelbrecht and Jennifer Saayeng.
Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max, said the series “weaves together Ridley’s hallmarks of science-fiction and horror, while offering fans one of the most original storylines.”
