Still worth screaming about.
Scream VI continued to hang tough in a competitive domestic box office race this weekend, holding onto the fifth spot in the rankings, according to a report on Deadline.
The latest entry in the classic slasher franchise went up against the animated juggernaut Super Mario Bros. Movie, but still earned $3.3 million from 2.300 theaters in its fifth weekend, bringing its domestic total to $104 million.
Scream VI–directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick–finds the survivors of the last Ghostface killings in New York City, dodging danger on the subways and streets of the Big Apple.
Legacy standouts Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Hayden Panettiere, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding join forces with newcomers Samara Weaving, Dermot Mulroney, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra and Henry Czerny on this bloody battleground.
