Feels like Old Home Week.
The next Scream installment–let’s call it Scream 6 for now–has started filming, and a photo of legacy star Courteney Cox as journalist Gale Weathers has been posted on social media. Check out the post and pic–courtesy of People–on this page.

In this sixth Scream entry–scheduled for release March 31, 2023–Cox will join the returning Hayden Panettiere, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega–along with newcomers Dermot Mulroney, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra and Henry Czerny–in more (and probably bloodier) Ghostface misadventures.
In addition, two more cast members just signed up this week–Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) and Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: No Way Home).
As previously reported–much to the dismay of Scream fans everywhere–a key cog in the horror machine will not be back. Neve Campbell turned down a offer to reprise her Sidney Prescott role and will not be a part of the next film.
Scream 6 will again be helmed by the directing duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, working from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.
The film–according to the logline–will follow “the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.” Their destination? Reports have them heading for New York City–a new, sprawling playground for Ghostface.
