‘Scary Movie’ Revival Coming in 2025

Get ready for more laughs with your favorite horror flick being parodied as the Scary Movie franchise is set to return.

Earlier today at CinemaCon, Paramount Pictures and Miramax announced that they are moving forward with the next instalment in the Scary Movie franchise. The plan is to get production rolling this year and foll it out for a theatrical release in 2025. The franchise has earned $815m at the worldwide box office.

Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and released in 2000, Scary Movie starred Anna Faris, Marlon Wayans, Jon Abrahams, Carmen Electra, Dave Sheridan, Shawn Wayans, Frank B. Moore, Regina Hall, Shannon Elizabeth, Lochlyn Munro, and Cheri Oteri. The film was produced on a $19 million budget and earned $278 million at the box office. The film spawned four more sequels, each adding to the hilarity of the series.
