‘Saw X’ Enjoys Bloody Good Thursday Previews With $2M

The traps are being sprung.

Saw X–the appropriately named tenth installment in the popular horror franchise–came out of the box office gate swinging, leading the pack in Thursday previews, according to a report on Deadline.

The new horror flick earned $2 million during Thursday evening previews, a figure that’s higher than the two previous Saw entries. Spiral: From the Book of Saw earned $750,000 during ts previews, and Jigsaw pulled in $1.6 million.

Directed by Kevin Greutert from a screenplay by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, Saw X sees Tobin Bell return as John Kramer, who is now trying an experimental procedure that may cure his cancer. Unfortunately for all involved, the “cure” is just a hoax.

Kramer, predictably, is not happy with the cruel charade–and he devises “devious, deranged and ingenious traps” for his tormentors.

Joining Bell in the cast are Shawnee Smith (as Amanda Young)–along with Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernandez, Joshua Okamoto, Octavio Hinojosa, Synnove Macody Lund, Steven Brand and Michael Beach.
