The sounds of horror.
The Cello--a new horror flick that premiered this week in Saudi Arabia–is set for a wide theatrical release Dec. 8, according to Variety.
The new film is led by two genre standouts–director Darren Lynn Bousman (three Saw films) and star Tobin Bell (best known for his John Kramer role in the Saw franchise).
Tony and Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons also headlines the film, along with Elham Ali and Samer Ismail. Turki Alalshikh wrote the screenplay, which was based on his own novel.
The Cello–shot in Saudi Arabia, Prague and Ireland–follows a cellist who finds out his new instrument “comes with a centuries-old curse.” The film is produced by Lee Nelson and Raul Talwar. Niko Ruokosuo serves as executive producer.
