Emmy Award nominee Sarah Snook is getting back to her genre roots.
Snook–with roles in such thrillers as These Final Hours (2013) and Predestination (2014)–will replace Elisabeth Moss (The Invisible Man) in the paranormal horror flick Run Rabbit Run, according to a report on Deadline. Moss reportedly had to leave the starring role due to scheduling conflicts.
Snook is perhaps best known for her standout role in the HBO hit Succession. Additional casting for the film–slated to start pre-production this month ahead of filming in Victoria and South Australia–has not yet been announced.
Run Rabbit Run–directed by Daina Reid (The Handmaid’s Tale) from a screenplay by Hannah Kent–follows Sarah, described as a “fertility doctor with a strong understanding of the cycle of life–in which a person is born, they live and they die.”
But things take a bizarre turn when Sarah’s young daughter Mia begins displaying “increasingly strange and erratic behavior, (and) she is forced to challenge her own beliefs and confront a ghost from her past.”
The movie is produced by Anna McLeish and Sarah Shaw, with Deanne Weir and Olivia Humphrey on board as executive producers.
