Sam Raimi’s Next Project Revealed

The man behind The Evil Dead, Sam Raimi, as completed a deal to direct and produce Send Help, a new pic from 20th Century Studios, according to a report on Deadline.

Specifics of the plot details has been kept under wraps, but the film is said to be set on an island with the story to fall between Stephen King’s Misery and Castaway from Robert Zemeckis.

The film will be based on an original script from Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the duo that co-wrote Freddy vs Jason and 2009’s Friday the 13th.

In addition to all of his work on The Evil Dead franchise, Raimi has also directed hits such as the Spider-Man trilogy (which starred Toy Maguire), Darkman, Drag Me To Hell, and most recently, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

With Doctor Strange, Raimi blended superheroes with a dash of horror, earning $955.8 million at the box office on a budget of 350.6 million.
