Does mother really know best?

Umma–a new horror flick produced by Sam Raimi of The Evil Dead fame–is set for a theatrical release March 18, and a trailer was released this week to offer a tantalizing tease. Check out the video–courtesy of screenrant.com–on this page.

Umma–Korean for “mother”–is the feature debut for writer/director Iris K. Shim that follows Amanda and her daughter “living a quiet life on an American farm,” according to the logline. “But when the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea, Amanda becomes haunted by the fear of turning into her own mother.”

Golden Globe Award winner Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) stars as Amanda, with Fivel Stewart (Atypical) playing her daughter. The ensemble includes Dermot Mulroney (Insidious: Chapter 3), Odeya Rush (Goosebumps), MeeWha Alana Lee (Equal Standard) and Tom Yi (The Purge).

The film’s laundry list of executive producers includes Andre Ovredal (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark), Matt Black, Marcei A. Brown, Peter Luo, James Moran, Jeanette Volturno and Oh.
