‘Rosario’ Sold To Several Areas During Berlin Film Festival

Not your traditional grandma story.

Rosario–described as a “high-concept horror film”–recently wrapped production, and has been sold to several international territories by Highland Film Group, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie–the feature directorial debut for Felipe Vargas (the horror short Milk Teeth), working from a screenplay by Alan Trezza (We Summon the Darkness)–boasts a genre cast that includes  David Dastmalchian (The Boogeyman), Jose Zuniga (Twilight), Diane Lein (Fear the Walking Dead), Paul Ben-Victor (The Irishman), Emilia Faucher (CODA) and Emeraude Toubia (Shadowhunters),

The feature follows Rosario (Toubia), a Wall Street stockbroker who becomes trapped in her grandmother Griselda’s apartment during a snowstorm.

Then, when Griselda dies and Rosario awaits the arrival of her father Oscar (Zuniga), “twisted and menacing supernatural forces possessing Griselda’s corpse begin their assault–and Rosario becomes the target of a family curse that spans generations.”
