Romero’s ‘Twilight Of The Dead’ To Start Filming Late This Year

by Thomas Tuna

The Romero legacy lives on.

Twilight of the Dead–the final zombie movie from the legendary George A. Romeo–this week got backing from Roundtable Entertainment, and now has a planned late 2023 shooting start in Puerto Rico, according to a report on Deadline.

The film–described as the seventh and final entry in the iconic Living Dead franchise–was started by Romero before he passed away in 2017, and finished by the screenwriting team of Joe Knetter, Robert Lucas and Paolo Zelati. The search for a director is currently underway.

The feature–set on a tropical island–will delve into “the dark nature of humanity from the perspective of the last humans on Earth–who are caught between factions of the undead.”

And (no doubt to the delight of horror fans), the producers said they would be open to the possibility of additional Living Dead films if this new installment does well.
