Similar to Rob Zombie’s last film, 31, the upcoming sequel to The Devil’s Rejects, 3 from Hell, will be released as a special Fathom Event’s presentation from September 16-18, 2019.
According to the Rob Zombie’s official website, 3 From Hell will screen over the entire weekend and each night will include”… some delicious bonus footage.” On September 16th, fans will receive “…a special introduction video from the director himself, Rob Zombie, and the first 50 attendees at each movie theater will receive an exclusive poster.” On the following night on September 17th, “…fans will be able to watch an almost 30 minute making of the film featurette.”
And it appears that Zombie saved the best for last, as on the final night on September 18th,”…fans will be treated to a special double-bill of The Devil’s Rejects and 3 From Hell.”
Zombie described making 3 From Hell as “…a true labor of love”, saying that “This event is a long time coming. The journey of these characters has always been special to me and I am thrilled to finally let the fans experience the next episode of the Firefly madness…and we know we have created something amazing for the loyal followers of these films. Let the insanity begin!”
Jonathan Saba (Saban Films’ Senior Vice President of Distribution, Sales and Marketing) is equally excited to screen 3 From Hell, stating that “In 2003 a bold new cinematic voice emerged with House of 1,000 Corpses. And with the sequel, The Devil’s Rejects, Rob Zombie cemented his legacy as one of the most influential and important modern-day genre filmmakers. Now nearly 15 years later, Rob returns to the Firefly family in an audacious and wholly singular new chapter in this gory saga. I can’t wait for audiences to see this film on the big screen thanks to our partners at Lionsgate and Fathom.”
It does not appear that 3 From Hell will be getting a standard release, so this event will most likely be the only chance to see Zombie’s film in theaters (before a quick turn-around for home viewing audiences). Tickets for this three day event will be available starting on Friday July 19th at FathomEvents.com and participating theater box offices. A complete list of participating theaters will also be announced that same day at Fathom’s website and on robzombie.com.
