Rob Zombie’s ‘The Munsters’ Reboot Headed To Netflix

by Thomas Tuna

Well, it took him long enough.

Rob Zombie recently revealed that his reboot of The Munsters would debut this September, but didn’t say where. This week, he did. Check out Zombie’s Instagram post for the official announcement.

The PG-rated “origin story” of the bizarre family at 1313 Mockingbird Lane will land on Netflix (for quite some time, reports had swirled around either a theatrical or Peacock release), but no specific date has yet been announced. Don’t rush here, Rob.

Billed as “the greatest love story ever told,” the feature film–which wrapped shooting in Budapest earlier this month–stars Jeff Daniel Phillips and Sheri Moon Zombie as love-struck Herman and Lily Munster, along with Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa. Original TV cast members Pat Priest and Butch Patrick will also make appearances.

The rest of the ensemble includes Richard Brake, Sylvester McCoy, Jorge Garcia, Cassandra Peterson, Catherine Schell, Tomas Boykin, Jeremy Wheeler and Dee Wallace.
