Things just got a little hairier around The Munsters set.
Director Rob Zombie dug into the darkest recesses of The Munsters ’60s TV show and came up with an obscure relative for his feature reboot. Lester–Lily’s werewolf brother who appeared on screen for a few seconds in one episode way back when–has returned. Check out the Zombie post on this page–courtesy of JoBlo.com–that shows the new addition.
The well-dressed Lester will be played by Tomas Boykin–who has a history with Zombie, having appeared as Derek Zoom in 3 From Hell.
Boykin joins the recently announced Jeremy Wheeler as Herman’s boss Mr. Gateman, as well as Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa, Richard Brake as Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, Jorge Garcia as Floop, Sylvester McCoy as Igor, Catherine Schell as Zoya Krupp, Cassandra Peterson (Elvira herself) as Barbara Carr and Dee Wallace as the voice of Good Morning, Transylvania.
The PG-rated film (a first for Zombie) still doesn’t have a debut date, but it’s believed it may have a day-and-date release in theaters and on Peacock. Stay tuned for a confirmation.
The film is based, of course, on the TV series that ran from 1964-1965 and starred Fred Gwynne as Herman, Yvonne De Carlo as Lily and Al Lewis as Grandpa, with Butch Patrick as son Eddie and Beverley Owen (later replaced by Pat Priest) as niece Marilyn.
