Rob Zombie Finally Releases Teaser For ‘The Munsters’

by Thomas Tuna

And now, in full color…The Munsters!

The first teaser for Rob Zombie’s feature film adaptation of the ’60s TV show The Munsters has landed and, while it reveals nothing of the storyline, it will seem very familiar to fans of the short-lived series. Check out the brief video on this page.

The opening of the teaser (no telling if this is how the film will actually start) is an homage to (or rip-off of) the TV show, with Herman (Jeff Daniel Phillips) smashing through the front door, followed by wife Lily (Sheri Moon Zombie) and father-in-law Grandpa (Daniel Roebuck).

The interesting part comes next, as the three main characters are seen sitting on a sofa in the living room in full color–something the TV show never did.

The PG-rated film–which still does not have a release date or venue (maybe theaters, maybe Peacock, maybe Netflix)–also stars Sylvester McCoy, Jorge Garcia, Cassandra Peterson, Richard Brake, Catherine Schell, Dee Wallace, Tomas Boykin, Pat Priest, Jeremy Wheeler, Roderick Hill and Mark Griffith.

Roebuck has given Zombie a ringing endorsement as writer/director of the remake. “There’s not a better person on the planet who should be making The Munsters movie other than Rob Zombie,” the actor said. “With him being a lifelong fan approaching the material, it’s as good as it gets.”
