Now here’s a guy who looks like he knows his way around a funeral home.
The Munsters–Rob Zombie’s feature remake of the classic ’60s TV series–this week landed another piece of its ensemble cast. The part of Herman’s boss–Mr. Gateman–has been filled by British character actor Jeremy Wheeler, and the filmmaker posted a photo of the new hire on his Instagram account. Fans will recall this part was played by the distinguished John Carradine on the TV show (his was a minor part, appearing in just two episodes), so Wheeler will have big shoes to fill as a partner in the firm of Gateman, Goodbury and Graves Funeral Home.
Wheeler joins the previously announced Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa, Richard Brake as Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, Jorge Garcia as Floop, Sylvester McCoy as Igor, Catherine Schell as Zoya Krupp, Cassandra Peterson (Elvira’s alter-ego) as Barbara Carr and Dee Wallace as the voice of Good Morning, Transylvania.
The PG-rated reboot still does not have a confirmed debut date, but it is believed it will enjoy a day-and-date release in theaters and on Peacock.
The film is based on The Munsters TV show–which ran on CBS from 1964-1965–that starred Fred Gwynne as Herman, Yvonne De Carlo as Lily and Al Lewis as Grandpa, with Butch Patrick as son Eddie and Beverley Owen (later replaced by Pat Priest) as niece Marilyn.
