The Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne–which has wrapped production on its way to a 2024 debut on AMC–stars Andrew Lincoln as Grimes and Danai Gurira as Hawthorne in a “love story that has been changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance by an unstoppable power,” according to the new synopsis.

“Can they find each other–and who they were–in a situation unlike any they’ve ever known?”

Gurira also has written scripts for the six-episode series, along with showrunner Scott M. Gimple. In their collaborations, the actor has challenged Gimple, he said, “and I challenge her. Neither of us lets the other off the hook.”
