The past has a way of catching up to you.
Resurrection–a new psychological thriller from IFC Films–will haunt theaters (and on-demand) starting Aug. 5, and an unnerving trailer dropped this week. Check out the video–courtesy of Entertainment Weekly–on this page.
The film–from writer/director Andrew Semans (Nancy, Please)–stars Rebecca Hall (Godzilla vs. Kong) and Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs) in what is described as a “gripping emotional journey fused with a Grand Guignol-style living nightmare.” The film also stars Grace Kaufman (The Last Ship) and Michael Esper (Ben Is Back).
In the film, Margaret (Hall) is balancing the demands of her busy career and single parenthood to her daughter Abbie, but “that careful balance is upended when an unwelcome shadow from her past–David (Roth)–returns, carrying with him the horrors of Margaret’s past,” according to the synopsis.
Margaret must now “confront the monster she has evaded for two decades, who has come to conclude their unfinished business.”
