Release Date for ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Gets Pushed Back Once Again

For those nostalgia buffs hoping against hope that they’d be able to re-live those ectoplasmic memories in 2020, bad news: Deadline has reported that what was originally a July 10th, 2020 release date for Ghostbusters: Afterlife was first moved to March 2021 and now to June 11, 2021 (which is the same weekend the original Ghostbusters was released in 1984).

The new film, written by Gil Kenan and Jason Reitman was directed by Reitman and stars Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Carrie Coon along with appearances by 1984 originals Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts. (I’m also hoping for a tasteful CGI cameo by the late Harold Ramis.)

For those who forgot, the trailer is below. Here’s looking to 2021!
