It can’t be easy being a chubby vampire. Think of the jokes.
Reginald the Vampire–a Syfy horror/comedy series currently in production for a debut later this year–is tackling that delicate situation, and has lately added several cast members to help star Jacob Batalon, as reported by Deadline.
The 10-episode series–based on Johnny B. Truant’s six-novel Fat Vampire series–stars Batalon as Reginald Baskin–described as “the slowest, weakest, most out-of-shape vampire ever”.
Batalon will be joined by Sean Yves Lessard as Lebron, an “immaculately dressed vampire you don’t want to mess with”; Mandela Van Peebles as Maurice, “vampire life coach for Reginald”; Em Haine as Sarah, “Reginald’s human co-worker who is learning to fight for her dreams”; and Aren Buchholz as Todd, “Reginald’s manager at the Slushy Shack”.
Also announced this week were Savannah Basley as Angela, “an ancient vampire of great power”; Georgia Waters as Penelope, “a dangerous and beautiful vampire”; and Marguerite Hanna as Ashley, “a lover of conspiracy theories and urban legends.”
The series is led by writer/showrunner Harley Peyton (Chucky, Twin Peaks) and executive producer and director Jeremiah Chechik (Diabolique). Other executive producers include Todd Berger, Lindsay Macadam and Julie DiCresce.
