Not bad for the world’s worst vampire.
Horror-comedy Reginald the Vampire–spotlighting the “slowest, weakest, most out-of-shape vampire ever”–is getting a second season from Syfy, according to a report on Deadline.
The series–based on Johnny B. Truant’s Fat Vampire novels–stars Jacob Batalon (of the Spider-Man franchise) as Reginald Andres, who is decidedly out of place in a world “populated by beautiful, fit and vain vampires,” according to the logline.
Problems abound for Reginald–he has a girl he loves but can’t be with, a bully manager at work and a vampire chieftain who wants him dead. Fortunately, Reginald discovers he has a few unrecognized powers up his sleeve.
The 10-episode first season also stars Sean Yves, Mandela Van Peebles, Em Haine, Aren Buchholz, Savannah Basley, Georgia Waters and Marguerite Hanna.
The series is led by writer and showrunner Harley Peyton (Chucky) and executive producer and director Jeremiah Chechik (Diabolique).
