Radio Silence Team Working On New Untitled Monster Feature

The Scream filmmakers aren’t resting on their laurels.

The filmmaking team of Radio Silence–Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella–are moving on from their Scream success to a new (as-yet-untitled) monster thriller for Universal Pictures, according to a report on Deadline.

The new project will be directed by Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett, with Villella producing alongside William Sherak, Paul Neinstein and James Vanderbilt. The screenplay was written by Stephen Sheilds, with revisions by Guy Busick.

Little is known about the new film at this early stage, but it reportedly will be “in the vein of such recent Universal entries as The Invisible Man and Renfield” in that it will offer “a unique take on legendary monster lore and a fresh, new direction for how to celebrate these classic characters.”

Scream VI–directed by Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett–has proven to be a box office hit in its five weeks, grossing more than $100 million domestically and $162 million worldwide.
