Prepare for Nightmares as Freddy is Confirmed for ‘Dead by Daylight’

A new video for Dead by Daylight has confirmed a Nightmare on Elm Street chapter will be added featuring Freddy Krueger. As we reported last week, there were rumors that the “Springwood Slasher” would be the next character to be added to the survival horror game, which already features Leatherface, Michael Myers and Laurie Strode.

While it is great to see Freddy in game, some fans are upset at the character model used for the iconic 80s slasher. Instead of tailoring it after Robert Englund, the character bears a likeness to Jackie Earle Haley who portrayed Freddy in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Sales topped one million units shortly after the games initial release. While the game has always had a fun premise, adding known movie villains has helped the creators reach many fans that may have never even known about the game.

The new Nightmare on Elm Street chapter is set to arrive on Steam on October 26th. Keep it locked to Horror News Network for more updates as they become available.
