The dead live…and live…and live.
Night of the Living Dead–the 1968 George A. Romero zombie classic that started it all–will be adapted into a new audio series, according to a report on Deadline.
The scripted podcast series–simply entitled The Dead–“will tell new stories and expand characters from that universe,” according to the description.
The podcast–produced by the George A. Romero Foundation–will feature 24 episodes, and will employ a full cast. The foundation reportedly will choose writers for the series following an application process.
The original Night of the Living Dead–directed by Romero from a screenplay he wrote with John Russo–stars Duane Jones and Judith O’Dea. The film–as all horror fans know full well–follows seven people trapped in a Western Pennsylvania farmhouse that comes under a horrific attack by a horde of undead zombies.
